Beware of Reveton Ransomware

FBI has globally warned computer users against a new drive-by virus named Reveton Ransomware that freezes the computer screens of Internet users and asks them to pay a certain amount to unlock their computer again.

The virus installs itself on user’s machines after they visit certain portals and throws them a message informing them that that they have broken Federal law and their system would unlock only if they pay a certain amount as fine using the prepaid money card service.

The virus stops the computer to function properly and is difficult for average users to remove it from the system. It is also fast spreading and Internet Crime Complaint Center(IC3) are receiving dozens of complaints every day.

So beware of this virus and do not react or pay for any such message you get, instead take help from your network/computer engineer to get your system cleaned.
