All work and no play makes John a dull boy! No wonder with high-flier jobs, incomes rising, inflation, increasing demands leaves no time for today’s generation to lead a happy, relaxed and stress free life.

Stress at work happens when a person is not able to meet his commitments due to any personal constraints or pursuing unrealistic targets. The consequence of stress affects both physical as well as mental balances and reduces the productivity.

Common causes of work related stress constitute heavy workload, work shift timings, conflict with colleague, personal, psychological ailments which in-turn affects a person at work. Workers contribute directly to the productivity of a company and in order to be productive they should not be stressed. Chances are that a stressed worker will contribute negatively to a company's productivity and a group of stressed workers can result in erosion of profit margins.

Some of the effective ways to reduce stress at work place and increase productivity are.
  • Give up your coffee – A cup of coffee is a wet stream of stress to your veins.
  • Get organized – Organization is an ally to stress, even with basic organization practices a person can save a lot of hours and reduce stress levels.
  • Stretching after using PC – A basic body movement with crossing fingers, stretching hand and legs is necessary for a quick relief.
  • Breaks – Breaks is an important component and add a fresh prospective to solve the challenge when dealing with stress.
  • Get fresh air - Spare some time out of the air conditioned office and walk in fresh air to allow your body to absorb extra oxygen and keep your mind fresh and productive.
  • Sleep – Lack of sleep reduces energy levels and have a direct effect on the efficiency, there’s no substitute to a good sleep.
