The Richest Man in Babylon

Book Review :

The Richest Man in Babylon is a book by George Samuel Clason which dispenses financial advice through a collection of small short stories set in ancient Babylon. The most interesting thing about the book is that it is written in the old English style giving the readers a great experience of understanding the old English as well.
The most powerful principle the book brings out is that one should live one’s life on 90 percent of one’s income that is for every 100 rupees you take home 10 rupees should automatically go into savings. Along with the short stories, the book offers a lot in terms of simple lessons on controlling expenditures, making a wise investment etc.

An interesting fact about the book is that it gained popularity mainly in 1926 when it was distributed by a lot of banks and insurance companies in the form of pamphlets. The books phenomenal success prompted BN publication house to release a version translated into modern English also.
