RBI's Gokarn: food prices key for inflation

"If monsoons are normal, food prices will start to come down quickly," Gokarn told reporters after an investment seminar in Singapore.

Gokarn also reiterated that the RBI will continue to tighten its monetary policy at a steady pace.

"Our monetary policy stance is to make a steady correction. They (interest rates) are currently not in alignment with the rate at which the economy is growing."
