World’s largest brainstorming recognizes challenges in 2011!

Some of the major issues faced by the countries in the year 2011 cannot be hidden or ignored.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Councils, claim that Global power shifts, an uncertain economic recovery, population growth, inequality and resource shortages are some of the issues which need to be dealt with at the earliest as the world is going to face some serious crisis in the next 12-18months.

Trends were revealed after a survey was conducted. An approximate of 600 global experts and 72 Global Agenda Councils were a part of the3 day long conference in Dubai. Leaders from business, government, civil society etc were also present.

Sources reveal that, John Lipsky, First Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC says “I felt gratified by the survey results because they show that the international community is focused on the right issues and that it is on the right track to address them,”

Mari Elka Pangestu, Minister of Trade of Indonesia, and Zhang Yunling, Director, International Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), People's Republic of China, both cited the G20 and some of its recent decisions as a prime example of the shift in power from developed to emerging countries.
